SANDRA'S PICKLES FIGS 
3 lbs. figs, stems & skins left on
1/2 c. soda
Boiling water

SYRUP:

6 lb. sugar
1 c. vinegar
1 c. water
2 tbsp. whole cloves
3 sticks cinnamon in bag

Sprinkle soda over figs in large container. Cover with boiling water and let stand for 5 minutes. Rinse well, at least 2 or 3 times. Combine all ingredients for the syrup and bring to boil. Add figs and boil 10 to 15 minutes. Set aside overnight.

Cook 10 to 15 minutes each day for 4 days. On last day, put in sterile jars and seal. (If any syrup is left, use by adding pears or peaches.)
