1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. cut up sm. gum drops or citron or chips of any kind
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream sugar and shortening, eggs and vanilla. Add flour, salt and soda. Stir in gum drops and nuts. Mix well. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Yield: 5-6 dozen.
