LEMON BARS DELUXE 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. sifted 10x sugar
4 beaten eggs
1/3 c. lemon juice
1 or 2 tsp. lemon peel, shredded

Sift flour and 10x sugar together. Cut butter into flour and 10x sugar until mixture clings together. Press into bottom of 13 x 9 x 2 pan.

Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes (until lightly browned).

In a medium bowl, beat together eggs, granulated sugar and lemon juice. Combine 1/4 cup flour and baking powder. Add shredded lemon peel. Stir into egg mixture. Pour over baked crust.

Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack. Sift additional powdered sugar over top. Cut into bars or diamonds.

Makes 30 bars.
