LIME SWEET CUCUMBER PICKLES 
Slice and peel 7 to 8 pounds cucumber, soak for 24 hours in 2 gallons water in which 2 cups lime has been dissolved. Drain and soak 4 hours in fresh water, changing water every hour.

Syrup: 5 pounds sugar, 1/2 gallon vinegar, 3 tablespoons pickling spice in bag.

Bring to boil and pour over cucumber, let stand overnight. Next day simmer 1 hour. Put in hot jars and seal.
