BAKED CHEESE-AND-GARLIC GRITS | |
4 c. water 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. uncooked quick-cooking grits 1 1/2 c. (6 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. milk 1 clove garlic, minced 2 eggs, beaten Bring water and salt to a boil; stir in grits. Cook grits until done, following package directions. Remove from heat, and add next 5 ingredients; stir until butter and cheese melt. Add a small amount of hot grits to eggs, stirring well; stir egg mixture into remaining grits. Pour grits into a lightly greased 2- quart baking dish. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Serves 8. |
