HOW TO COOK A COUNTRY HAM | |
Put in a lard can or something large enough to cover ham. 1 cup molasses - 1 cup vinegar. Fill container with water after stirring a small amount of water to dissolve molasses. Soak ham in this 24 hours. Drain; now add 1 cup molasses; bring to boil in the can of water and boil ham 30 minutes. Take off stove. Wrap the can in an old quilt to hold the heat. Let stand until next morning, approximately 12 hours. |
