HOT CHESTNUTS 
1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained
1/2 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. sugar
Bacon strips, cut in thirds
Brown sugar

Marinate chestnuts in soy sauce 1 to 2 hours. Cut larger chestnuts in half. Roll each chestnut in sugar then wrap in bacon and secure with a toothpick. Bake in a broiler pan on a rack for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Drain. Best when made in the morning and reheated at night at 350 degrees for 6 to 7 minutes.
