1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. dark molasses
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and molasses; mix well. Sift dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture. Pinch off walnut-sized pieces of dough; roll in a dish of sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees.
