I made these chess bars for my family over 20 years ago and it has become a tradition for Christmas as well as thanksgiving. The only thing that is different is that be sure you use a "no pudding" type cake mix for the crust. These are sure to satisfy.

I've made this for years. I'm fifteen and its worked for me for years, great for first time bakers that want to impress, its a family tradition of ours and I make it every year, my fathers favorite, good luck with it, you wont be disappointed, though I have to warn you the top layer of the end result is sticky and they are really sweet, I definitely recommend doubling the recipe, they are sure to please.
