Great recipe! I've been making these since I was a kid and I'm exactly a spring chicken now. But make sure it's not humid where you are. They will barely set if there's a lot of moisture in the air.

I am 68 years old. My grandmother used to make these when I was a kid. My mouth is watering and I am about to make a batch. What memories!!!!

Age,I'm old. First time I remember having had these, I was just four years old. We were visiting my Grandparents house and she had made them. YUMMIEST EVER (don't mean shouting, just enthusiasm).

If you're after a quick, easy to complete and richly delicious cookie... really more like candy, then this may just be your staple go-to-recipe!

Tastes better with only 4 tablespoons of cocoa.

First time for making these... I'm not sure I like the chewy oatmeal. Is it supposed to soften? I used quick oats.

Dad made them EVERY Sunday Afternoon (while Mom took a nap). Oopps, no oatmeal! Hurry, get the corn flakes and just pour them in. Put it on cookie sheet and spread around. Luann Flagstaff, Arizona

Excellent cookie. Grandson doesn't like the oatmeal. Can I use cusp rice cereal instead?

 Tammy (Canada) says:
My all time favorite cookie. I sometimes omit the peanut butter and add 1 cup of mini marshmallows, it gives it a more chewy texture.

I remember these from Girl Scouts! You all make me want to try them again! I have left one career and am considering another. I always loved baking but I loved the tasting part more which is NOT good for ME, but you guys are making me remember good old times with my troop mates!

My grandmother use to make these exactly the same way for us when we were children. Now at 62 I made a batch this weekend for my wife and me and they were scrumptious; just like "granny's".

This is the best recipe. I have made it for over 35 years. However, we call it Fudge Chews. If you boil the sugar, cocoa, butter, & milk mixture for 3-4 minutes instead of 1 min, stir frequently, before adding the PB & Oatmeal, the mixture will harden like fudge. I place in cup cake holders in muffin tins and put in refrigerator until hardened. totally different texture. So good.
