BEEF KA - BOBS | |
2 lb. beef tip, cut into 1 1/4 inch cubes 10 1/2 oz. can beef consomme 1/3 c. dry white wine or apple juice 2 tbsp. soy sauce 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1/4 tsp. onion powder 1 tbsp. plus 1 tsp. cornstarch Heat consomme, wine, soy sauce, garlic and onion to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes. Cool. Pour mixture onto beef. Cover and refrigerate. Spoon mixture over beef occasionally for at least 3 hours or overnight. Thread beef cubes on skewer. Stir marinade gradually into cornstarch in a sauce pan. Cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Boil for 1 minute. Brush over kabobs. Set oven to broil. Broil kabobs about 4 inches from heat. Broil for 7 minutes, turn, brush with sauce and broil 7 minutes more. Place on hot platter, spoon on remaining sauce. |
