SHRIMP GUMBO | |
1 ham hock, cut up 5 to 6 tomatoes 1 c. celery, chopped 1 onion, dropped 1 lb. shrimp 1 1/4 c. cut okra 2 c. fresh corn 1 tsp. sugar 2 c. rice, cooked Measure 4 to 6 cups water in large pot (chicken broth, may be used). Add tomatoes, celery, onions, corn and ham. Bring to boil then reduce heat and simmer for 2 1/2 hours. Last 20 minutes add shrimp, okra and rice. |
