A REAL FUDGE CAKE 
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 slightly beaten egg
2 (1 oz.) sq. chocolate

Cook ingredients over medium heat, stirring until mixture comes to a boil and cool to room temperature. 1 c. sugar 2 c. sifted cake flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 1 c. milk

Cream shortening. Add sugar, vanilla, eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then sift dry ingredients and add them and milk to creamed mixture, alternately. Blend in chocolate mixture and bake in lined 9 inch cake pans at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, or oblong pan, 9 x 13 x 2 inches for 35- 40 minutes.

CHOCOLATE ICING:

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1 sm. can evaporated milk

Cook ingredients until a small amount will form a soft ball in cold water. Remove from heat and add 18 large marshmallows and 1 (6 ounce) package of chocolate chips. Beat until icing is of spreading consistency.
