MERRY CHERRY BARS 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. coarsely chopped red candied cherries
1/2 c. coarsely chopped Holiday plain chocolate M & M's
1 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
5 tsp. warm water

Beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in egg and almond extract. Add combined flour and salt; mix well. Stir in 1/2 cup cherries. Spread dough in jelly roll pan. Sprinkle with remaining cherries and candies. Press in lightly. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool. Make icing of powdered sugar and drizzle over. Cut in bars.
