CHOCO-CHERRY COOKIES 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries

Combine softened cream cheese, butter and sugar, mixing well, until blended. Blend in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa and baking powder; mix well. Add flour mixture to cream cheese mixture, mixing well. Stir in nuts and cherries. Drop by rounded teaspoonful on greased cookie sheets.

Bake at 375 degrees, 12 to 15 minutes or until edges very lightly browned. Makes approximately 5 dozen.
