PEA SOUP 
1 (16 oz.) bag green split peas
1 meaty ham bone or 2 pork chops
1 1/2 c. onion, sliced
1/4 tsp. marjoram, crushed
1 c. carrots
1 c. celery
1 (12 oz.) can beer
1/2 tsp. pepper
6 1/2 c. water

Rinse peas. Place peas, beer and water in large pot. Add onion, marjoram, carrots, celery, ham, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and let simmer 4 to 6 hours.
