ROASTED SPARERIBS WITH HOISIN
HONEY GLAZE
 
9 lb. lean spareribs

HOISIN HONEY GLAZE:

1 (12 oz.) bottle beer
3/4 cup Hoisin sauce
3/4 cup honey
3/4 cup soy sauce
3/4 cup minced green onion
3 tbsp. minced fresh ginger or 1 tbsp. ground ginger

Combine all ingredients except ribs in medium saucepan over low heat and cook 5 minutes to blend flavors.

Note: Glaze can be prepared ahead to this point, cooled, covered and refrigerated. Reheat before proceeding with recipe.

About 2 hours before serving, position racks in upper and lower thirds of oven and preheat to 350°F. Brush ribs with glaze. Arrange on racks set in 2 large roasting pans. Roast until well browned, 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours, turning ribs every 30 minutes and basting with glaze.

Transfer to work surface and cut between ribs. Arrange on heated platter and serve immediately.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.
