NANA'S FRENCH MEAT PIE
This has been our family tradition since my grandmother made them years ago.

5 medium potatoes, peeled and mashed
1/2 lb. ground pork
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped fine (don't cook onions ahead)
salt, pepper and turkey seasoning, to taste
1 pkg. prepared pie crusts (Pillsbury)

Peel and cook 5 medium potatoes. Fry pork and ground beef together. Add onion (don't cook onion), salt, pepper and turkey seasoning to meat.

Mash cooked potatoes and add. If mixture is too mushy crush 5 to 7 crispy crackers and add to mixture. This absorbs the liquid. Mixture should not be mushy but not too dry. Taste mixture for enough turkey seasoning. You should be able to taste it but not too strong.

I use Pillsbury ready made pie crusts but you can make your own. Fill shells as you would a pie. Place top and crimp edges and slit top crust in a couple of places.

Bake at 350°F for 25 to 35 minutes or until browned.

Can be eaten right away but I make the day before and then reheat. ENJOY!
