LUSCIOUS APRICOT COOKIES 
2/3 c. dried apricots
1/2 c. soft butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Confectioners' sugar

Rinse apricots; cover with water, boil 10 minutes, and cool; drain; chop. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8x8x2 inch pan.

Mix butter, granulated sugar, 1 cup flour until crumbly. Pack into pan. Bake about 25 minutes or until lightly brown.

Sift together 1/3 cup flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually beat brown sugar into eggs. Add sifted flour mixture. Mix in vanilla, nuts, and apricots. Spread over first baked mixture. Bake 30 minutes or until done. Cool in pan. Cut in squares and roll in powdered sugar.
