2 c flour 1/2 c sugar 1/2 c powdered milk 1 tea salt 3 heaping tbsp quick rise yeast 2 c hot water 1 stick butter 2 eggs (beaten) 4 c flour Icing: 2 oz softened cream cheese 2 c powdered sugar milk enough to make spreadable Mix 2 c flour, sugar, powdered milk, salt, and yeast in a large mixing bowl, set aside. In a small bowl add butter to very hot water. Cool down and add eggs and 1 c flour, then when cooled down enough to not kill yeast. Add to first flour mixture, then add other 3 cups flour and knead. Grease bowl and let rise about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours and make into loafs or rolls. This also makes very good cinnamon rolls. Roll out the dough and add butter on top, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, roll up, turn over onto a casserole dish without cutting into rolls until you have baked at 350°F for about 30 to 40 minutes. |
