This is not a true Mississippi mud pie, it's more of a dirt (chocolate) and worms (gummi worms) type of dessert, but it's delicious and a recipe I have been looking for. Thanks!!

Actually, it is a REAL mississippi mud pie. Being from louisiana, i've learned that there is two versions: one is a cake like recipe; and the other is a pie like recipe. This would be known as the pie like recipe. Very good. I've made this for many years, as well as the cake-like recipe. Keep up the good work.

My kids dont do nuts very well... Think that I could just do a graham cracker like crust for the first layer instead?

I have this same recipe, but not "Mississipi Mud", but "Melba's Delight". It calls for pistachio pudding instead of chocolate. Both versions are yummy!

My Mom made this my entire life as a Mississippi Mud Pie, the real one. I am 46 and teaching my daughter to make it. It's so easy to make even she can do it!

You can make this with sugar cookie dough if you don't like pecans.
