CORNED BEEF 'N POTATOES 
1 corned beef brisket, 4 lbs.
1 sm. onion, sliced
1/2 tsp. whole cloves
2 stalks celery with leaves
1 (12 oz.) can beer
1 bay leaf
4 peppercorns
6-8 whole potatoes, pared

Put brisket into deep kettle, add cold water to cover. Add beef, onion, bay leaf, cloves, peppercorns and celery. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer for 4 to 5 hours or until tender. During the last 30 minutes, add the potatoes.
