2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. applesauce
2 eggs
3/4 c. chopped dates
3/4 c. nuts
3/4 c. raisins

Mix together all ingredients.

TOPPING:

1/4 c. nuts
2 tbsp. sugar

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 35 minutes.
