JAM CAKE 
1 c. butter
6 eggs, separated
2 c. sugar
2 c. blackberry jam
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
4 c. flour
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cocoa
1 tsp. cinnamon
Pinch salt

Cream butter, egg yolks and sugar. Add jam and mix. Put soda in buttermilk and add to mixture alternately with mixed flour, spices and salt. Fold in beaten egg whites. Bake in 3 layer greased pans at 350 degrees.

FILLING:

3 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. homogenized milk
2 c. raisins
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. nuts
