MANHATTAN SUPPER SOUP 
1 lb. ground beef
2 c. (coarsely chopped) cabbage
1 lg. onion, diced
1 stalk celery, sliced
3 carrots, sliced
1 med. potato, cubed
1 tbsp. parsley flakes
1 (6 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (No. 1) can tomatoes
1 (10 1/2 oz.) canned beef broth
2 soup cans water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas or mixed vegetables

Cook meat and drain well; add all ingredients in large pot, (except the peas) simmer for 50 minutes; add peas. Cook another 10 minutes. Very tasty!

I've been making this soup for decades, literally. The original does not call for tomato sauce. Using that would change the taste too much. Imo. That's why 3 stars
