POPPY SEED CAKE FROM TRACY 
1/4 c. poppy seeds
1/3 c. sour milk

Soak 1 hour.

1 c. flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 stick butter, room temperature
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs, room temperature
1 tsp. grated orange peel
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well with each egg. Sift flour mixture. Add 1/3 flour mixture into batter alternately with poppy seed mixture and flavorings. Bake in loaf pan at 325 degrees for 65 minutes. Cool in pan on rack 30 minutes.
