APPLE BLOSSOM COBBLER | |
A cobbler is an easy to prepare, one dish recipe similar to a 'dump cake'. It is just cobbled together! It in no way resembles any type of pastry and is uniquely a 'cobbler'. It is most frequently served warm, just from the oven, so you will rarely find it in a store and you will have to prepare it yourself at home! 1 pkg. refrigerated buttermilk biscuits 1 can apple pie filling (or equivalent home-made) 1 pkg. red Jello (not diet) 1/4 cup butter 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 tsp. salt (optional) In a greased brownie pan (about 8X8-inch), spread package with buttermilk biscuits. Add a can of apple pie filling. Sprinkle 1 package of red Jello over apples. Make a topping of butter, flour, sugar and salt. Mix well and sprinkle over cobbler. Bake at 375°F for 1/2 hour and serve while still warm; top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream flavored with rum, if desired, or just as-is! |
