CHOCOLATE ALMOND BARS 
1 (12 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate chips
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
2/3 c. evaporated milk
1 c. slivered almonds, toasted
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. light brown sugar, packed
1 lg. egg
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. quick or old fashioned oats
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

In large mixer bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add egg, almond extract, flour, oats, baking powder and salt. Mix until well blended. Press half of butter mixture into a greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan.

Spread chocolate mixture evenly over top. Sprinkle remaining butter mixture over chocolate. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into serving pieces. Makes 48 bars and enjoy.
