MARINADE FOR FAMILY STEAK (OR
GRILLED POT ROAST)
 
3 to 3 1/2 lb. round bone pot roast or family steak, 2 inches thick
1/4 c. soy sauce
1 tbsp. bourbon
2 cloves garlic, crushed 1 to 2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. dry ginger
6 drops bitters (optional)
Water

Tenderize meat according to directions on meat tenderizer package. Let stand 1 hour. Combine rest of ingredients with enough water to make 1 1/4 cups. Pour this mixture over meat and let stand for several hours or overnight. Broil or grill 3 inches from charcoal. Cut into thin slices to serve.
