1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter or shortening
3 eggs, well beaten
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
3 1/2 c. flour

Flavor with grated rind of orange. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Frost with powdered sugar moistened with orange juice. My mother made these at Christmas time and put sprinkles on top of frosting. Good cookie to send to someone.
