COFFEE DEVILS FOOD CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
2 eggs
1/2 c. oil
1 c. coffee, cooled

FROSTING:

1 c. milk
4 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix "dry" ingredients (first 5). Add milk and eggs; mix. Add oil and cooled coffee. Mix well. Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

For Frosting: Cook milk and flour, stirring until thick. Set aside and cool thoroughly! Mix shortening, butter, sugar and vanilla together. Beat until smooth. Add cooled flour mixture. Beat until double in bulk and smooth not grainy. Spread on top of cooled cake.
