LEMON-NUT BREAD (TEA CAKE) | |
1 c. sugar 6 tbsp. butter 2 eggs 1 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. milk Grated rind, 1 lemon 1/2 c. chopped walnuts 1/2 tsp. salt Pour over hot cake after it cools for 5 minutes: Juice of 1 lemon plus 1/2 c. sugar heated until sugar dissolves Mix sugar and butter until creamy. Add remaining 6 ingredients and stir until combined. After lining pan with wax paper, grease and flour it. Bake in loaf pan at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool on rack for 5 minutes. Then pour sugar-lemon juice mixture over bread. |
