APPLE WALNUT COBBLER 
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
4 c. thinly sliced, pared tart apples
1 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
1 well beaten egg
1/3 c. butter, melted

Mix 1/2 cup sugar, the cinnamon, and 1/2 cup of walnuts. Place apples in bottom of a greased 8 1/4" x 1 3/4" round baking dish. Sprinkle with the cinnamon mixture. Sift together dry ingredients. Combine egg, milk and butter; add dry ingredients; all at once and mix until smooth. Pour over apples; sprinkle with remaining nuts. Bake at 325 degrees for about 55 minutes or until done. Spoon warm cobbler onto dessert plates; top with cinnamon whipped cream or ice cream. Makes 8 servings.
