1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
1 c. gum drops, cut up
1/2 c. nuts
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda

Mix sugars, shortening, eggs, add rest ingredients; mix well. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until done.
