ALABAMA CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. water
1 stick butter
1/2 c. cooking oil
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Sift sugar, flour, soda and cinnamon together. Combine water, butter, oil and cocoa in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour over flour mixture; set aside. Combine buttermilk, vanilla and eggs; beat lightly. Add to above mixture. Bake in 13 x 9 inch pan for 25 minutes at 400 degrees.

ICING:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 box 10X sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts, optional

Five minutes before cake is done combine butter, cocoa and milk to a boil; watch closely to prevent scorching. Pour over sugar; add vanilla and nuts, if desired. Pour over hot cake while icing is hot.
