BEER STEW | |
1 lb. pork, cut in 1" pieces 1 lb. beef, cut in 1" pieces 3 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 can beer 1 tbsp. beef bouillon 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. garlic salt 1/8 tsp. marjoram 1/8 tsp. thyme 1/8 tsp. basil 6 carrots, sliced 3 potatoes, cut up 1 med. onion, sliced 1/2 c. cold water 1/4 c. flour Cook pork and beef (can be made with just pork) in oil over medium heat until brown; drain. Add enough water to beer to measure 2 cups; pour over meat. Add spices. Heat to boiling. Add carrots, potatoes and onion. Cover and cook in 325 degree oven until beef tender, about 1 1/2 hours or on top of stove same time. Shake cold water and flour in covered container; stir gradually into stew. Cover and cook 10 minutes. 8 servings. |
