ONIONS EN CASSEROLLE 
2 lbs. sm. white onions
2 c. water
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. paprika
1/4 c. slivered, blanched almonds
1/4 c. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Black pepper

Pour boiling water over onions to cover. Let stand, the drain and peel.

Cover and simmer 30 minutes (until tender). With slotted spoon lift out onions and put in greased casserole dish.

In another pan brown almonds in butter. Stir in flour and cook until brown. Gradually stir in liquid from cooking onions and cook until thickened. Add Worcestershire sauce. Pour sauce over onions. Cover and bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
