POT ROAST DELUXE 
2 1/2 to 3 lb. pot roast
2 tbsp. oil
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
1/3 c. red table wine
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce

Combine all ingredients except meat, shortening and tomato sauce; pour over meat. Marinate 2 hours or overnight, turning often. Drain meat, reserving marinade. Brown roast in shortening; add marinade and tomato sauce. Simmer covered for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
