TOLL HOUSE MARBLE SQUARES 
A chewy-soft, bar cookie version of those delightful Toll House flavors.

1 c. plus 2 tbsp. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. soft butter or shortening
6 tbsp. granulated sugar
6 tbsp. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. water
1 egg
1/2 c. coarsely chopped Diamond walnuts
1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) Nestle's semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Blend together butter, sugars, vanilla and water. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in walnuts. Spread in greased 13 x 9 2 inch pan. Sprinkle chocolate morsels over top of dough. Place in oven at 375 degrees for one minute. Remove from oven. Run knife through dough to marbelize. Return to oven and continue to bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes. Cool. Cut in 2 inch squares. Makes 2 dozen.

Please note, there is no way this amount of batter fills a 13x9 pan. I used a 9x9 pan, and it barely covered the bottom to depth of 1 inch. Otherwise, tastes great.
