1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 beaten egg
1 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. quick oats
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream sugars with shortening. Stir in egg, vanilla and water. Add sifted dry ingredients, oatmeal and nuts. Drop on greased sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
