1 lb. lasagne noodles 4 tbsp. butter 2 slices bacon, minced 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 tbsp. celery 1 clove garlic, minced 1 tsp. parsley 1 lb. ground round beef 1/2 lb. pork sausage 1 c. grated Parmesan cheese 1/4 tsp. marjoram 2 c. Italian tomatoes 1/2 lb. ricotta or cream cheese 1/4 tsp. salt, pepper 1 1/3 c. water 1 egg 1/2 lb. mozzarella cheese 1 sm. tomato paste Boil noodles. In butter, saute bacon, onion, celery and garlic 5 minutes. Add ground beef and sausage. Cook until pink has disappeared. Add tomato paste which has been diluted with the water and tomatoes. Add marjoram and parsley. Simmer 30 minutes on medium heat. Blend cream or Ricotta cheese and Parmesan cheese with egg, salt and pepper. Layer noodles, meat, cheese mixture and mozzarella in 12 x 10 inch pan ending with cheese layer. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. |
