PIZZA CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. hamburger 1 lg. onion, chopped 1 green pepper, chopped 1/2 tsp. garlic salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. dried oregano 1/2 tsp. dried basil 1 (14 oz.) jar pizza sauce 1 (8 oz.) pkg. uncooked macaroni 1 (3 1/2 oz.) pkg. sliced pepperoni 1 (4 oz.) pkg. shredded Mozzarella cheese Combine hamburger, onion and green pepper in a large Dutch oven. Cook until meat is browned, stirring to crumble. Drain well in colander. Return meat mixture to Dutch oven; add garlic salt and next 4 ingredients. Stir well; cover, reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Cook macaroni according to package directions, omitting salt; drain. Add to meat mixture, stir well. Spoon into a lightly greased 12 x 8 x 2 inch baking dish; top evenly with peppers. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes; top with cheese and bake, uncovered, 5 minutes. (Instead of baking another 5 minutes, broil to brown the top). 6 to 8 servings. |
