ORANGE BLOSSOMS (LITTLE CAKES) 
1 box yellow cake mix (Duncan Hines original recipe)
3 oranges
2 lemons
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/4 c. water
1/3 c. vegetable oil

Squeeze the juice of 3 oranges and 2 lemons and grated rind of same. Remove seeds and membranes, but leave pulp. Set aside.

After mixing cake mix according to box directions, pour batter into cupcake tins and place first cakes in oven to bake.

Add 2 cups granulated sugar to juice mixture, stirring to mix but not to dissolve all sugar. Remove cupcakes from oven and dip each at once (while hot) into juice mixture, turning several times.

Place cakes on tin foil covered plate or cookie sheet and dribble juice over tops. Be sure you get bits of pulp and rind on each cake top.

Note: This recipe makes cakes, not pastries, and should not be confused with any commercially available product.
