MARINATED WATER CHESTNUTS 
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 c. soy sauce
1 can whole water chestnuts
1 lb. bacon
Sugar (in a sm. bowl)
Toothpicks

Combine ginger, soy sauce and water chestnuts in a bowl. Make sure chestnuts are covered in the mixture. Refrigerate overnight or at least 4 hours to marinate properly. Cut bacon into 4 sections. Wrap chestnuts with bacon. Put a toothpick in them to hold the bacon on and roll in sugar.

Place the chestnuts on a plate with paper towel on it and microwave them until the bacon is just turning crisp. (If chestnuts are large cut them in half.)

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
