2 lbs. stew beef Carrots Potatoes Onions 1 can consomme 1 lg. can tomatoes 1 can tomato soup Flour, salt, pepper, other seasonings as desired Peel enough carrots, potatoes and onions to serve the people you have for dinner or use frozen stew vegetables. Put the flour and seasoning in a bag, add the meat and shake. Layer the meat and vegetables in a casserole that has a tight cover. Pour over all the consomme, tomatoes and soup. Bake in a slow oven (300 to 325 degrees) for 3 to 4 hours, longer if necessary. No attention needed during baking. Serves 8. |
