PIZZA DOUGH | |
1 pkg. granulated yeast 1 c. warm water 2 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. sugar Dash of salt 1 tsp. olive oil Put granulated yeast in 1 cup of warm water and allow to sit and rise for 5 minutes. Mix flour, sugar, salt and add yeast and water. Stir together until a good consistency and turn onto a floured board for kneading. Flour can be added and butter hands may help to keep the dough from sticking. After dough is ready, add in a well created by the thumb print in the dough 1 teaspoon of olive oil and knead until well mixed and the dough is satiny and smooth. Set aside in a warm place (oven with pilot light on) as long as possible to rise. If it is warm it spreads better. When ready, spread on oiled baking sheet and brush with olive oil. Spread to edges of sheet and then add the topping. Bake in preheated 500 degree oven for 15 minutes until edges are golden brown. |
