BANANA OATMEAL BREAD 
1/2 c. oats, uncooked 1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 bananas (very ripe), mashed
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Add buttermilk to oats and stir. Set aside. Cream butter until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in bananas and oat mixture. Combine flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Stir into banana mixture. Pour into a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour. Makes 1 loaf.
