1 pkg. white cake mix
1 1/4 c. oats
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
1/2 c. nuts
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13 x 9 pan. Combine cake mix, 6 tablespoons butter and 1 cup oats. Mix well until crumbly. Reserve 1 cup crumbs for topping. To remaining crumbs add egg and mix until well blended. Press in pan. Pour cherry pie filling over. To reserved crumbs add remaining 1 1/4 c. oats, 2 tablespoons butter, nuts and brown sugar. Mix well and sprinkle over cherry. Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.

Other combinations could be used: apples pie filling with spice cake mix, cherry pie filling with chocolate cake, coconut could be substituted for oats.
