BARBECUE PICKLES | |
1 gallon cucumbers, sliced Soak 4 days with 1 large handful of salt. Drain. Boil 10 minutes in fresh water along with 4 tablespoons alum. Drain. Boil 10 minutes in small amount of water and 1 tablespoons ground ginger. Drain. Boil 1/2 hour in 3 pounds sugar, 2 teaspoon celery seed, shake of cinnamon and cloves and 1 quart vinegar. Seal while hot. |
