MACARONI AND CHEESE 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. macaroni shells
1/2 lb. mild Cheddar, sliced
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter

Cook macaroni a little less than package directions to not quite tender. Make a paste of flour, salt, pepper and a small amount of milk. Add egg and mix well. Add the remainder of the milk and mix.

Alternate macaroni and cheese slices in buttered 2 quart casserole, beginning with the macaroni and ending with the cheese. Pour milk and egg mixture over all and dot with the butter. Bake for 30 minutes in 350 degree oven until thickened and cheese is melted. Cover with foil first minutes then take it off.
